Canola: Exclusive Cooking Oil at World Skills 2009
Over 900 Competitors will compete simultaneously in 45 skill categories during four days of intense competition in Calgary at the World Skills Competition.
Hailed as the pinnacle of global skills, trades, and technologies competition, this biennial event promotes excellence and global competency industry standards.
Competitions range from robotics to web design, welding to cooking, and auto-body repair to landscape gardening.
The Alberta Canola Producers Commission and the Manitoba Canola Growers Association have teamed up to sponsor the cooking competitions.
Canola is the only cooking oil being used by these competitive chefs from around the world.
Thousands of spectators are taking in the events and visiting the Canola Learning Centre where they are learning about the benefits of using canola oil as part of a healthy diet. You can learn more by visiting www.canolainfo.org
